1) INTRODUCTION

In this module of data recovery training, we will be discussing on Logical data recovery. In this session, we will know what logical data recovery is when it is required, and by which software to use we can perform logical data recovery in a fast and reliable manner for different problems. In this entire session, we will be understanding the different logical faults of the hard disk, and will practically discuss about the best software used for that issue.

2) LOST PARTITION DRIVE DATA RECOVERY

Many times, when one installs the operating system in the hard disk one might accidentally delete other partitions instead of the main partition containing the operating system, or might have deleted all the partitions created on the hard disk. Sometimes, due to virus infection or by attaching two or more hard disks in a system, a hard disk partition might accidentally get deleted or formatted by the user and the hard disk becomes unallocated. In such cases, the important data, stored on the hard disk is also lost. In this session of Logical data recovery training, we will discuss about the data recovery of the formatted and deleted partitions and will learn more about data recovery of lost partitions.

3) RAW PARTITION / DRIVE DATA RECOVERY

To use any hard disk, pen drive, or any other storage devices, first, we have to do their partitioning. Removable storages like pen drives have a default partition of FAT32, and the hard disk has the default partition of NTFS. While partitioning a storage device, sometimes, it cannot be formatted by the file system, and the RAW partitions are created in them. In this session of Logical data recovery training, we will be discussing about the RAW partition data recovery, and will learn more about the RAW partitions, the symptoms of the hard disk being RAW, and the software’s used to recover data from RAW hard disk.

4) DAMAGED DRIVE I/O ERROR DATA RECOVERY

People, who are doing computer maintenance, sales, and data recovery work will be facing the issue where the hard disk cannot be initialized even if the hard drive is detected in the device manager. 7) DATA WIPING

In this session of logical data recovery training, we will discuss about Data wiping. Data wiping is also known as data cleaning or data erasing. When we recycle upgrades or resell our old systems like laptops, computers and the hard disk, there are chances of getting our personal and sensitive data like photos, videos and, passwords leaked or getting copied by others. In this session, we will learn how to wipe the disk and clean the data from the storage device without damaging it physically. In this method, our data will remain safe and we can reuse the hard disk again.

8) LOST PARTITION DATA RECOVERY IN 5 MINUTE

Many times during the installation of operating system, rather than deleting the operating system partition we accidentally delete the other partition or all the partitions of the hard disk.

When there are two or more hard disk in the system then at the time of installation accidentally we delete the partitions of any other hard disk and important data are not visible to us. Similarly due to virus infection the partitions are not visible to us. 11) SYSTEM HANG ISSUE DRIVE DATA RECOVERY ( WITHOUT FIRMWARE REPAIRING )

Friends, those who are working in computer repairing, maintenance and data recovery area generally face a problem, in which the computer or laptop gets stuck or hang on the system logo or operating system does not boot after detecting the hard disk.
Also, when that hard disk is connected to the secondary port of another working system than due to the damaged hard disc that working system also gets hung or the hard disk partitions take too much time to load. Friends, many times we get such hard disks, whose initial sectors are heavily damaged. In such cases, disk imaging through the general forward method takes a long time. 1) INTRODUCTION OF PCB

PCB is used in all kinds of electronic devices like mobile, laptop, computer, and hard disks. PCB is made up of fiber, glass, copper, and laminate materials. In the PCB, the Tracks are made from copper wire, and point-to-point technology is used to connect them. Transistor, Resistor, I C and other electronic components, are soldered on to the PCB to make a circuit. In a hard disk, General Electronic Failure is also known as PCB Failure. 3) HARD DISK PCB STRUCTURE

Electronic failures in the hard disk are often termed as PCB failure. Every hard disk has a PCB that is usually green or blue in color. Usually, the hard disk PCB is Multi-Layered Single Side PCB. There are multiple layers of copper wire tracks, and all the components are fitted on the same side only. Some companies like Toshiba and Hitachi have multi-layered and multi-sided PCB. In this session of Basic Information and Logical Values, we will be discussing about BIOS and UEFI.So far, we used to work with traditional BIOS which was present in the old systems. But now, the new systems are being introduced with UEFI features. A lot of people are already working with the UEFI systems, though most are unaware of the features and benefits of their UEFI systems. In this session, we will learn about BIOS and UEFI features, the benefit of the UEFI system and the reason behind BIOS being replaced by UEFI.

5) BASIC AND DYNAMIC DISK

We have read about the hard disk head, platter, and slider in the session of Mechanical Structure and Internal Component. The slider remains attached from the head, and the whole unit is mounted on the head arm. When the head gets damaged, In this case for data recovery, we have to replace the entire head assembly. If spindle motor in the hard disk gets stuck, then we have to loosen up the bearings engaged in that spindle motor. For such types of problems, we require the special tools for the mechanical data recovery. In this session, we will learn about different mechanical tools that are essential for data recovery.

4) DONOR HARD DISK SELECTION FOR HEAD REPLACEMENT

In the mechanical structure and components training session we saw that the structure of every hard disk is different. Some hard disks only have a single platter, while other hard disks might have two and three platters. A maximum of 2 heads can work on a platter. The preamplifier is also different in different models. When the hard disk head gets damaged, we have to replace that head with a working head to recover the data. Therefore, we need to select the donor hard disk for head replacement, which should be compatible with the damaged hard disk. In the training session of Mechanical Data Recovery, we will be discussing the selection criteria of the donor hard disk to find the preface donor head for the head replacement.

5) HEAD STUCK PROBLEM SOLUTION PRACTICAL

Hello everyone. Many-a-times, the head of the hard disk will get stuck onto the platter while spinning down. It won’t shift into the head parking area. This problem is called head stuck problem. Whenever there’s an issue of the head getting stuck inside the hard disk, no rotation can be found in that hard disk. And sometimes, an unusual sound may come out of it.

4) WD FIRMWARE TOOL – STATUS AND REPAIR REGISTER FLAG

Hello everyone, welcome to data Empires. Whenever we run WDR software, then status register flag, and repair register flag are visible in the bottom side of the console. These register flags tell us about the state of the hard disk and the error information. In this session, we will learn about the error register flag, and how to read its status.

5) WD ROM AND MICROCODE

Hello everyone, welcome to data empires. Friends, we already know that the firmware of the hard disk is stored in two parts. The first part is stored on the PCB of the hard disk. The second part is stored on the platter. If the firmware stored on the PCB gets corrupt or damaged, then hard disk is not detected, Hard disk starts giving a clicking sound, or the rotation of the hard disk gets stopped.
Therefore, before performing firmware repair operation to recover the data from the hard disk, or to repair the hard disk, there is a need to take the backup of the ROM first. In this video training we will discuss how to backup rom and how to check microcode of WD hard disk with help of basic firmware tool.

6) WD FIRMWARE MODULE READ AND BACKUP

Hello everyone, welcome to data Empires. We already know that the firmware of the hard disk is just like an Operating System. The way in which the operating system checks itself at the time of system boot, and provides the GUI system environment for the user, similarly, the firmware also tests itself and gets the hard disk ready for the data operations.
The firmware of the hard disk is stored in two parts. The first part is stored in the ROM, or M C U I C on the PCB. The second part is stored in the service area on the platter. In this training session, we will discuss the WD firmware modules and module backup.
